Alex trained at Wimbledon School of Art, London.
In 2011, Alex designed small hours (Hampstead Theatre studio), The Breath Of
Life (Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield), Spring Awakening - the musical (Theatr
Genedlaethol and Tour) and Clemency (ROH2 Linbury Studio and Scottish Opera).
Recently he designed Fraulien Julie (Schaubühne, Berlin), Idomeneo (English
National Opera) and The Devil Inside Him (National Theatre Wales).
Previous designs include Wunschkonzert (Schauspielhaus, Cologne) and
Jungfruleken (Kungsliga Dramatiska Teatern, Stockholm). Also Tarantula in
Petrol Blue (Aldeburgh Music), Ghosts (Arcola), The Suicide (Teatro della
Contradizione, Milan), The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Resistible Rise Of
Arturo Ui (Watford Palace and Tour), The Crocodile (Arcola Theatre), Moll
Flanders (KAOS Theatre, National Tour), At Break Of Day , Widows, R.U.R and
Still Life (Drum Theatre, Plymouth), The Country (Belgrade Theatre at Warwick
Arts Centre), Serious Money (Cambridge Arts Theatre), Blood (Pleasance
Edinburgh), Cocoa (Theatre 503), Tractor Girls (National Tour). He was Costume
Designer for Iron (Traverse Edinburgh then Royal Court Downstairs and
Schauspielhaus, Leipzig).
